South Africans are coming together for something bigger than baking. The Benoekie National Challenge is a nationwide fundraising initiative that brings communities together to bake giant cookies while raising funds and awareness for important causes.

WHAT IS A BENOEKIE?

A Benoekie (Benoni koekie) is a giant sugar cookie baked in smaller sections, assembled into one impressive creation, and covered with royal icing. It's more than just a cookie, it's a symbol of community, generosity, and hope.

WHO CAN JOIN?

Everyone can join. We invite schools, businesses, churches, community groups, families and friends. All you need is one person to start a team.

WHY IT MATTERS

TEvery Benoekie helps raise funds and awareness for:

• - Mental Health and Suicide Prevention
  - Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
  - Child Protection
  - Trauma Support

Funds raised are shared equally between SADAG and Action Society, supporting their work in communities across South Africa.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Register
Complete the online application and pay the R250 entry fee.

2. Bake
Receive the official recipe and bake your giant Benoekie.

3. Fundraise
Sell your Benoekie and raise funds in your community.

4. Give Back

Split the funds equally between SADAG and Action Societyand submit proof of payment.

5. Share your Journey
Upload photos and videos, tag Benoekie on social media, and celebrate your community's efforts. 🇿🇦

Judges will also recognise community spirit and town representation.

Winners receive:

* A cash prize to donate to a charity of their choice
* Recognition on the Benoekie website and social media
* National bragging rights
