SADAG Professional Membership banner 2023

It’s Time to Renew or Join SADAG’s Professional Membership

With the world being forced to adapt during trying times, SADAG wants to ensure that there are more ways that you can make a difference in mental health across South Africa. Being or becoming a SADAG Professional Member is now possible in several ways:

Option 1 – Pro-bono Sessions for Two Patients a Year

In place of a membership fee, you now have the option to be a Member by making a donation of pro-bono sessions for two patients a year. It’s no secret that countless people in South Africa are in desperate need of mental health services but are unable to access them due to lack of finances or governmental resources. By offering three pre-bono sessions to two patients a year, you will be making a massive difference in someone’s life. In return, we will add you to the official SADAG referral guide where everyday thousands of callers are referred to mental health professionals just like yourself.

Your pro-bono offering is at your discretion – please inform us of how you wish to take on your two patients a year and how you prefer to see them (online or face-to-face). We will then be in touch with you to make the relevant bookings.

Option 2 – Annual Membership Fee

If donating pro-bono sessions is not an option for you, you may choose to donate R500 as a fee for your annual membership instead. Your donation matters enormously to us – without your support, we wouldn’t be able to help countless people a day who urgently need mental health support, recommendations, and referrals.

If you would like to choose the annual fee option of R500, please use the following banking details and send proof of payment to This email address is being protected from spambots. Benefits and Ways to Contribute as a SADAG Professional Member

Becoming a SADAG Professional Member offers several benefits as well as ways that you can contribute to the overall improvement of mental health in South Africa.

You will be added to the SADAG referral guide, which our counsellors use on a daily basis to provide hundreds of callers with referrals to mental health professionals. Some of these callers can afford private care or are covered through medical schemes.

SADAG hosts various webinars and Facebook Friday conversations, which can reach up to 15 000 people. As a SADAG Professional Member, you will have the opportunity to present and participate in these sessions.

Our Mental Health Matters Journal is published and freely distributed to over 4000 health professionals every two months. Each issue of the Journal covers a wide array of mental health topics which provides insights on the latest treatments, techniques and conversations in the field. As a Professional Member you will have the opportunity to contribute to this incredible publication by writing on topics that personally interest you. You may also serve as an expert guest speaker and spokesperson for the various media requests that we receive daily.
